"And see him, Ankuro? He's what you call a wanker."

"He look like Aunty Kurenai's A'sum."

"Yeah, but A'sum is awesomer. He's just a wanker," Ankari said wisely, shifting her cousin - who was visiting the Weyr - on one slim hip as she pointed out the brown rider she was referring to.

"He tried to hit on Aunty Kurenai, but she showed him." Ankari's tone was proud, her sultry brown eyes glittering with malice and a dark smile on her lips as she recalled the memory. Sensing her humour, her little cousin giggled, wrapping his arms about her neck and chewing on the hand that held a lock of her short hair.

"Eeeew! No, not chewing on my hair, Ank! Bad Ankuro!" Ankari made a face, sticking her tongue out in disgust and holding the giggling boy away from her.

"Ugh, you're looking for a right hooker from psycho Aunty Ankari, aren'tcha?" she drawled, placing the boy on her shoulders and strolling lazily down to the Lake bank, ignoring any attention she recieved while she was babysitting her beloved baby cousin.

"Can I swim?" Ankuro asked hopefully. Ankari chuckled and ruffled his hair.

"Not now, monster. But you can wade, and I'll sit here and cool off."

That got a delighted cry, and she chuckled, watching as he jumped happily about in the shallows. It was a humid afternoon, and as boisterous and shameless as she was, Mizashith's rider had no qualms with stripping down to the mesh type shirt the people of Igen favoured. It was cool, and light, but tough enough, and the apparent clinginess never bothered her.

With a lazy yawn, Ankari kicked her shoes off, placing her tunic and jacket behind her and resting her elbows against it, letting her feet be soothed by the shallow, cool water, even as she tilted her chin back and let her face be warmed by the afternoon sun.

"Hey, look Cousin Anka!"

Sultry brown eyes, lazy with contentment, lowered from where they'd been viewing the sky, a twinkle of amusement in them as she watched the boy roll in the shallow water like a puppy. Kurenai would kill her later for letting him get away with it, but Ankari had never been the responsible watcher. Besides, why ruin fun when it was obviously being had?

M'lik watched the green rider known as Ankari from a ways off. She was quite a beauty, if a little pale and short. He also appreciated what he'd seen of her personality, though. There was something about her that caught his interest. He'd met untamed girls before, but there was just some difference to this one he couldn't put his finger on. He did know he wanted a piece of that. A big piece if possible.

She was cute with that kid too. M'lik wasn't much for kids, but it didn't make seeing Ankari playing with one any less cute. The brown rider was amused as he watched her strip down to a mesh shirt and sit down with her feet in the lake. Perhaps it was time to move in? Oh yes, it did look like a perfect time to move in. She was distracted and not watching him anymore.

M'lik moved in, walking over and coming up behind her. "Hello, lovely." He'd used that endearment many times before, but it seemed to fit so well on this wild woman. "A man's lucky to behold such a beauty." He was trying to be flattering but not lay it on too thick. "If you are in need of some company, I'd be happy to provide it." He had to be a little less forward in front of the kid, but only a little.

Ankari visibly twitched at the sound of his voice, and made no show of hiding her mild annoyance. She couldn't anyway - like her cousin, Ankari had a unique inability to hide her feelings on a matter simply by her face - and it was obvious in the way her nose wrinkled, eyes narrowing slightly even as her lips quirked in a wry smile.

My, and laying on the charm too, despite their prior incident with one another. It amused her to no end, but she had to admire his persistance. That, and Ankari was not one to quell physical desire when it came to men. Once aroused, it was pursued with single-minded curiousity, like a dominant puppy wishing to sniff out it's limits and see what the object of curiousity had in store.

Of course, Ankari wasn't careless enough to do anything that would risk her losing any chance of seeing Ankuro - and possibly Asura - again. So she merely settled for leaning further back on her elbows - knowing full well that the action showed off just what her shirt somewhat hit, showed a glimpse of white skin on neck and collarbone - and blowing her fringe out of her eyes, observing him with a bored expression and a challenging glitter in her dark eyes.

"Depends on what the company's wanting, and whether it'll be a threat to my beloved little man over there," she drawled, one foot leaving the water to point lazily at Ankuro, who was currently attempting to make a mud Hold in the middle of the water. A gold firelizard had since appeared, and was swimming in sinuous, sensual circles around the boy, chirping voluptuously as she watched over him.

Likewise, a blue firelizard had made his resting place on the greenrider's calf, chirruping in his odd, husky voice as he nosed playfully at the waistband of her shorts.

He means no harm to the little one, Mizashith's rich voice was mellow and sleepy, and Ankari broke M'lik's gaze for a moment to quirk an eyebrow at her beloved green, who watched her from her basking spot on the Star Stones with one whirling eye and what could only be described as a wry expression.

M'lik almost laughed as he saw her twitch in annoyance at him. The narrowed eyes and quirked lips just made him want to sweep her off her feet and kiss her. It might not be a good reaction, but it was a reaction. That just showed that she wasn't immune to him. It was nice to know that even if she was pissed at him, she did care on some level.

The brown rider smiled down at Ankari, a sweet smile, not a preditory or suggestive one for once. "I may be a flirt, lovely, but even I like children. I could help you watch him if you like." He was just trying to find excuses to get her to let him stay near her, but he wasn't lying about liking children at least. M'lik did like kids, which could be concidered rather fitting with his seemingly childish behavior at times.

He only looked briefly at the white skin showing out of the shirt before settling his gaze on those brown eyes. They sparkled with a challenge, he wanted to meet to the best of his ability. M'lik hoped very much he'd get that chance too. This challenge was just so sharding fun. Reaching down, he moved the fringe of hair that Ankari had been blowing to get out of her eyes and used the oppertunity to run a finger down along her jaw line. By the first egg, her skin was smooth and soft.

It made him wonder what other parts of the green rider's body felt like. That arroused a rather forceful reaction from certain parts of his own body. M'lik reminded himself that he had to keep control in front of the little person. He'd get time to be unrestrained sometime the kid wasn't around. M'lik's bronze decided to show himself at just that moment, popping in and chittering excitedly to M'lik. He must've been to see Klaion with the way he was zipping around like he'd had too much sugar.

He probably had too. M'lik's cousin loved to feed the bronze all sorts of things, and sugar happened to be the creature's favorite thing. Knowing Dango, he'd gotten the Autumn rider to get him honey dangos or something of that sort. "Calm down, Dango. Come here. You must've been to see Klay." Dango whistled happily and settled on M'lik's shoulder.

Ankari loved having her jaw caressed as much as anyone, but even she inwardly sighed with relief when he kept away from the area around her ear. Ears and hair, seemed to be a common weakness shared by members of her family; it was like touching a feline. One touch, one caress to either area, and like a feline, she would be purring in your lap.

Instead, her mouth merely quirked in some semblance of her forsaken dark smile, and she shrugged, propping herself to sit straight as she observed her four Turn old cousin. He had since abandoned his attempts at making a mud Hold, and was toddling his way in. Ankari grinned, knowing full well what Ankuro was thinking; who was this man touching his cousin? Why did these big men like being so close to both of his favorite female family members? Would he have to protect Ankari?

“Whatever you want,” she said boredly to the brown rider, though her attention was no fixed on Ankuro, making sure he could safely make his way in to shore.

The boy was still shy enough to not voice his questions, but his intentions and his shyness were obvious in the way he crawled, wet clothes and all, into the space between his cousin’s long legs, hands moving to rest against the top of her breasts and shoulder, gripping the thin material as his head rested under her chin. It was obvious that brown eyes were the dominant gene in the family, for Ankuro observed M’lik with huge, expressive, golden-tinted brown orbs, a mixture of shyness, curiosity and the smallest, almost knowing smile that only children could have as he leant into Ankari’s body.

Ankari, for her part, chuckled, lifting her chin just so for the boy. He was almost too big for such cuddles, but she didn’t mind, nor did she mind the fact that he was drenched to the bone. He was still young enough to have that baby smell, and she tousled his hair - so like her almost spiky, shoulder-length tresses.

“It’s alright, Ankuro, M’lik won’t do anything. Not while a big boy like you is staring him down,” she added, tone teasing, and Ankuro cracked a smile that was almost a giggle.

He knows M’lik’s likes you. Hatchlings are so odd like that.

Pfft, M’lik just wants to get into my pants.
Anka retorted, but there was hardly a trace of anger or annoyance in her voice, merely amusement and the slightest hint of a challenge. She hissed in surprise when Ankuro shifted, his wet hand cold on her shoulder, leaving a wet patch.

“No shifting, little man!”

Well, she hadn't snapped at him or tried to bite him, and there was even a little smirk on her face. He had to be doing well. The child coming in to settle on top of her was a bit of a drawback, but the brownrider would have to deal with it. It was not as if Dango the bronze flit would vacate his shoulder perch on the brownrider any time soon either. Of course, the flit wouldn't shush either. That was what M'lik got for telling Klaion that she was allowed to spoil the creature if she wanted.

As Dango chittered in M'lik's ear, M'lik smiled at the boy, "Ankari is safe with you around, I see. Did you have fun playing in the water?" He was trying to ignore the noisy flit for the time being and focus on the more important things currently at hand. But Dango was slowly getting on his human's nerves. When he wasn't chittering, the bronze was whistling or making any number of other excited sounds. As much as M'lik loved the little creature, it was annoying when the thing wouldn't shut up for even a moment.

Grath stirred on his ledge, sensing his rider's slight irritation, but only found a more comfortable position and went back to sleep. Dango was nothing to worry about and would keep their human out of trouble. Or so the drowsy brown figured before resuming his nap. M'lik wasn't going to get any help controlling the flit from his dragon, that was obvious. Sharding lazy dragon anyway.

"You'll have to excuse Dango. He's rather excitable... perfectly harmless as well." M'lik reached up and clamped the flit's muzzle down to try to get it to shut up and found that it only made Dango go to a rumbling purr of sorts. There was one plus. At least this sound was quieter than the previous chorus. Perhaps now, M'lik could get back to charming himself a woman.

The direct address immediately had the little boy disconcerted, and he widened his eyes before hastily hiding his face in the hollow of Ankari’s throat, a mumbled reply of sorts coming from him as he nuzzled closer to his favourite relative. Ankuro loved all his family, yes, but he loved the family that were dragon riders the most. Only, K’rim, who rode that awesome big bronze Neth, wasn’t half as fun as he used to be, now that he had grownup dragon rider duties to deal with. Ankuro didn’t understand how he could be so deeply involved in them and not have fun; hey, Aunt Ku’nai’s ‘friend’, A’sum, rode a big, scary-looking bronze, and he didn’t seem too bothered by his duties. He was kind of quiet, to be sure, but Ankuro didn’t mind, and besides, Aunt Ku’nai always managed to draw him out to play, and Ankuro liked that.

Ankuro loved Kurenai as much as he loved Ankari; she cuddled him and looked after him and played all kinds of games. But Ankari was ultimately his favorite. She was a little too loud, and Papa didn’t like him with her, but Ankari was funny and bright and playful, and would tell him things he wanted to know that others wouldn’t, and play silly games with him, like tag or wrestling matches in the dirt, and would let him eat what he wanted and swim in his clothes, like now.

Yes, Ankuro loved his green-riding cousin a great deal.

The man’s remark that he, Ankuro, would protect his female relative got a shy nod, and brown eyes peeked momentarily before hiding in Ankari’s neck again. Ankari, much amused by the interaction between M’lik and Ankuro, allowed a laugh, before tilting her neck slightly so she could look down at Ankuro.

“What’s the matter, little guy?” she cooed, voice teasing, but laced with softness and affection that a rare few bore witness to. She paused to tuck a strand of short hair behind her ear, sparing M’lik a slightly impish smile before jouncing her little cousin gently on one long leg.

“Come on, you don’t want that fire lizard to think you don’t like him, do ya?”

That, got something of a reaction. The boy shook his head against her, the movement causing his hand to tug the neckline of her shirt again - Ankari flushed lightly, pointedly pulling it back up -, and Ankuro finally detached himself, just enough to lean back and observe Dango with solemn, but curious, eyes.

“Dango?” he queried. He tilted his head, a small smile on his features. “Anka likes dangos, don’cha, Anka?”

Ankari grinned, though she too, was inwardly startled at this fire lizard’s name; he shared the name with her most favorite food in the world! Dangos - as good as the food groups, in her opinion! She shifted slightly, stretching the leg that had been curled under her out to get rid of any kinks or numbness that might have accumulated from staying in one position for so long, and bearing Ankuro’s weight, on top of that. Ankuro’s sudden giggle of delight jolted her from her self-ministrations, and she blinked, glancing at the boy. He had been watching the overexcited fire lizard, and M’lik’s actions in attempting to shut Dango up, and his subsequent failure, had brought about the shy child’s laughter. In that moment, he almost looked like the woman who’s lap he sat on, wide, bright, almost lop-sided smile, complete with dimples and crinkled, twinkling eyes.

Ankari had to grin when she looked up and watched M’lik attempt to shut the fire lizard up, stifling a laugh when Dango continued with those odd little sounds, even after M’lik had clamped his fingers around his muzzle. She glanced at the brown rider, caught his gaze momentarily, and her grin widened, more so when Shizuka deigned to land on top of her head and scold the overexcited Dango. And, of course, the fact that Ankuro was smiling and laughing, and even went so far as to answer the original question from M’lik.

“Y-yes. I like water, lots, but we don’t get it much at home, do we, Anka?” he said quietly.

“Nope,” Ankari replied, wrinkling her nose. Ankuro, bolstered by her support, fixed M’lik with determined, stubborn brown eyes.

“And yes, no one gets to hurt Aunt Ku’nai or Anka, or do anything they don’t like to them, ‘cause then I’ll…I’ll,” The boy paused, struggling with a suitable punishment he could understand. In the end, he just used what he had heard Ankari use. “I’ll make sure they can’t make babies, and then tie fi’stone sacks to their legs and drop them in the sea!”

That was said with a decisive nod, and Ankari promptly cracked up. The boy seemed encouraged by this, and as if he hadn’t uttered a rather frightening form of punishment, he gave M’lik another small, lopsided smile.

The Kid was cute. That much, M'lik couldn't help but note again. The way the boy burrowed into his cousin to hide, and then proudly stated how he would protect the much older woman was very sweet. Of course, M'lik was also enjoying the soft look on Ankari's face when she looked at the boy. Dango had been making a right pain of himself as far as the brownrider was concerned, but it seemed the flit had managed to do something right.

"Does she like dangos now? Well, that happens to be Dango's favorite food... it's why I named him that." The kid was a little frightening with his threat... but M'lik had a feeling the rider behind the boy had something to do with that. It would not surprise him one bit if Ankari had come up with that evil little idea. Evil woman... that was what made her so damn beautiful, though.

She had such a wild, untamed air to her that M'lik was sure would make her the most fun he'd ever had. "Not much water, you say? Just where are you from? It must be very boring for a boy that likes to play in the water." He grinned, "Of course there are always ways to entertain yourself. Especially when you have relatives like Ankari to give you ideas." He gave up on Dango and let the bronze flit go flapping about chittering away. "You may scold him all you like, my dear gold... but he doesn't usually listen."

"Rider Ankari, I must say, your smile is beautiful. Not to mention your laughter." If Grath had been awake, he would have told his rider to be a little more discreet in front of the hatchling. M'lik figured the child would not be too taken aback, though. "With such a pretty woman for family, you will always be busy keeping her safe, young man."
