"No, Ankari, they are not the four food groups! Why not try and eat something healthy?" The kitchen woman shook her head in exasperation at the sable haired green rider, who was currently sidling around her like a hopeful puppy that had just been kicked, complete with clasped hands, slightly hunched frame, full pouting lips and adorably innocent glassy brown eyes.

That, of course, was a lie. Ankari was not innocent, was not patient, and would probably kick anyone who kicked her in the most painful areas possible. Perhaps, her current pose - for the clasped hands helped by firmly outlining what her somewhat loose grey tunic did not, and such a pouty expression would make the male contingent sway to her, but not Tenten. Tenten was a woman, and very well aware of the charms of the boisterous woman in front of her.

"I don't neeeeed healthy food! Dangos are my carrots, my beans, my peas! See, I'm healthy!" To emphasise, Ankari stood straight, holding her arms out to shamelessly broadcast her body. She wasn't far off the mark either; it seemed to be a family trait, as both Ankari and her cousin Kurenai were as...well...sexy, as ever, despite the junk they, especially Ankari, ate.

Tenten sighed heavily, figuring it was easier to give in. "FINE, but don't come whinging to me one day when you finally get sick!"

"YAY!" Ankari's yelp of childish delight was clearly heard, and she gave Tenten a big, lopsided grin before snatching the proferred dangos and shoving one into her mouth, stick and all.

"Mmm, sweet," she mumbled, skipping happily to where her cousin was sitting in the Hall, watching with wry amusement.

"One day, someone won't fall to your cute grins, Ankari." Kurenai rolled her eyes, tucking her hair behind her ear as she nibbled on the other dango her cousin and best friend had managed to sneak. Ankari scowled at her but didn't protest; she knew Kurenai would just snort at her. It had always been like that; seven years her senior, Kurenai was the only one who could tell her off and tell her what to do when she misbehaved. Still...

"When it happens, I'll stop hounding you about the mysterious lovebites you get." Ankari drawled teasingly, causing Kurenai to blush and unconsciously smooth her hair over her neck. They both knew sharding well where she got said marks from, and Ankari took pleasure out of teasing her poor, love-struck but unrequited love.

"Personally, I think the whole great-sex-with-no-strings-but-friendship-attached was easier for you," Ankari commented, absently licking her lips clean of dango juice. Kurenai sighed heavily and rested her chin on the table, brown eyes forlorn as she watched her friend.

"If I had a say in it, Anka, you know I wouldn't have fallen in love."

"Yeah, I know. I'll learn from you like always and remember to not do the same thing. I like having fun with the boys, but relationships? Bah."

"Thanks for the encouragement," Kurenai said wryly, but her slight smile told her cousin that the joking was appreciated.

"No problem. Now, let's do some perving." Ankari grinned when Kurenai snorted with laughter, scanning the Hall through half closed, sensuous brown eyes, one leg crossed over the other as she leant back lazily, nibbling on her food. Her gold flitter, Shizuka, sat complacently in her lap, observing all with the same lazy eyes, while Minato, her little blue, perched on the back of the chair, chirping voluptuously as he preened one wing.

S'lan couldn't help but grin to himself as he did as he always did, let Lucky choose his company. The Blue fire-lizard flew straight at two rather sensual women.

S'lan hated thinking of names, but he remembered seeing both around. Ankari and Kurenai if he remembered right. Good choice Lucky. He laughed lightly as he walked slowly over, one hand stuffing his roll into his mouth and smoothing his hair with it.

He sipped at the klah in his mug as he walked up to the table. "Lucky! Have you disturbed these lovely lovely ladies?!" He grinned at Ankari and gave Kurenai a charming smile.

"May I join you? I love company when I'm down here. Especially when it happens to be the company of such breath-taking women." S'lan was pushing it, but fun was fun. He grinned and sat down lightly on the side with Ankari.

"Dangos?"

Despite her forlorn mood, Kurenai managed a chuckle at the man's charm. Perhaps, she might have been swayed by it once, but nowadays, nothing seemed to sway her unless it was a low, black-laced voice, and the slight, almost oddly gentle but cheeky smile and a pair of deep brown eyes. Ugh, she was such a fool, falling in love with the man. But she did, perhaps she always had, and if she had to keep silent just to prevent scaring him off, than so be it.

She wouldn't let it ruin a chance to be friendly though, nor would she let her black mood spoil Ankari's prospects at having some fun, as she no doubt would. The man was a little too concerned about his looks - but then, Kurenai was fickle about being clean herself - but that didn't necessarily mean he wasn't good company. So, with a small, if somewhat faraway smile, Kurenai nodded, gesturing with one small hand that he was welcome to sit with them.

"We're flattered you'd think us so...what was the word, breath-taking?" Her voice was soft and absent, but there was a hint of Kurenai humour in it still, and though Ankari worried for her cousin's unusually lacklustre appearance - oh, Faranth, A'sum would die painfully at her hands if he didn't figure himself out soon - she knew Kurenai wouldn't appreciate any direction towards her vulnerability. So, Ankari did what she did best to make up for her beloved cousin; she made herself loud and happy.

"Oh, breath-taking? You're too kind; I'm just the ickle insecure one who pretends she's sexy. She's the breath-taker," she chirped, taking her dango stick out of her mouth to grin openly and cheerfully at the Winter rider, happily sidling over to make room for him.

Shizuka protested the movement with a cheep, but allowed it, choosing to observe Lucky with passive, yet somewhat suspicious eyes. Ankari grinned, sticking her dango back into her mouth and stroking the gold, before moving to pet Lucky.

"Nah, he's no trouble at all. I love flitts, and I think they love me. Me and my food," she added, still bright-eyed and loud as she finished the last dango ball on the stick and continued chewing on the wood, observing S'lan complacently through her long lashes.

"These are dangos. Potatoes sorta fried and dipped in different batters you know? They're my first love and though they disagree," she grimaced and brandished a hand towards the Kitchen women, "Are as good as the four food groups, in my opinion."

"Her peas, her beans, her carrots, her sweetner," Kurenai piped up, smiling cheekily at Ankari's indignant expression and winking confidentially to S'lan.

S'lan laughed. "Well, I suppose they are good. But the four food groups? You'll have to convince me." He grinned at Ankari, winking at Kurenai. The Winter rider couldn't stop himself from watching the woman eat her last dango and chew on the stick. He gave an involuntary shiver.

Lucky chirped happily as the new woman petted him. She didn't have any food for him to beg for, but she was pretty. She petted good too! He gurgled happily.

S'lan finally looked away from Ankari's mouth, blushing slightly. "Ah, well, I know I'd certainly miss all the different flavors of other foods." He smiled as he regained his composure, not that he could regain it much sitting next to such a rather sensual figure. Especially not when she looked at him like that.

"Dangos certainly can't replace drinks. Do you enjoy anything specifically?" He grinned at her.

The attention being paid to the green rider's actions, no matter how subtle, did not go unnoticed. Noticed by Kurenai, because she was older, and had been a dab hand at getting a man's attention herself when she had not been attached to A'sum, and Ankari, because she KNEW what she could do, and knew how to get a reaction.

The fact of the matter was though, that Ankari actually hadn't done anything at present to warrant attention. Not directly, anyway. She'd merely taken to lavishing firm but gentle pets to Lucky, chewing on her stick as she did. Anything to get attention off Kurenai, for Kurenai's sake more than S'lan's. To catch that blush though, was something, and two dark eyebrows raised on two different faces, catching each other's glance. Kurenai hid her smirk in her arms, but Ankari's expression remained bland, save for the wicked, sadistic gleam in her eyes.

Ladies man, was he? She wondered just how much truth that held, and wondered if she could hunt down any ladies who'd been with this winter rider, or even chase a friend or two of his down. That cute little Autumn rider that had been a weyrling alongside Kurenai, perhaps? Cute as a button, he was, but Ankari found him too passive. So, it was either find out that way or...

Her mouth quirked in delighted anticipation, the feline contemplating the hunt. Or...she'd find out her way. So as such, she was quite happy to play along and play the innocent for now.

"I drink anything that isn't nasty, like medicine," she said absently, expression fading to boredom as she continued petting Lucky, ignoring Minato's cheep in her ear, and golden Shizuka's soft hissy hums above her hair, where the gold was running her talons through her mistress's dark tresses.

"As for the dangos, I'll happily show you. They happen to taste particularly lovely when they're mixed with something of a...sweet flavouring." This was accompanied by what was a seemingly innocent lick of the lips, tongue darting out to sweep the residue flavouring from the dango off her chin and mouth. Her cousin knew better though - saw the needlessly lazy way in which Ankari did it, and had to turn her attentions to elsewhere around the Cavern so she wouldn't lose her composure, propping her cheek on her fist so her smile would be hidden. She nearly did lose it though, when Yuhith relayed the following comment.

Mizashith says to tell you that Ankari wants to know from you whether it's worth betting five marks that she'll have this guy groaning under her within three days. Yuhith finished that off on a higher note than usual, for she too, had picked up the amusement of the scene, and her tone was the dragon equivalent of giggles. Mizashith was less open, but on the Star Stones where they resided, her muzzle had curled in what could only be her equivalent of a sadistic smirk.

Three days? If she keeps this up, I give it a day and a half, or less. Sundown today, even. Kurenai bit her lip harshly to stop her snickers, carefully not looking at Ankari for fear of bursting into loud laughter. Trust her cousin, to pull her out of her despondent mood. It was enough so that Kurenai almost wished A'sum was here, just so he'd witness this byplay. She knew, with certainty, that he would find great amusement out of it, though, knowing his sense of humour, she'd probably end up making her mouth bleed from muffling laughter from dragon-relayed comments.
